Introducing: The Maurice de Mauriac "Stan Smith Signature" Watch
A cool collaboration between the renowned Swiss watchmaker, and the legendary two-time Grand Slam champion.
Since its release, the latest Maurice de Mauriac collaboration with Stan Smith, has certainly caught the attention of many watch enthusiasts as well as the fashion-forward. Stan Smith, perhaps better known for his association with signature Adidas shoes than his legendary career as a tennis champion, teamed up with Maurice de Mauriac to produce a signature piece that honors Smith’s 100 victories on the tennis court.
The dial of the "Stan Smith Signature" Watch is clean and legible, and straight up Maurice de Mauriac design. The green-and-white NATO strap accentuates the watch's sporting heritage, whilst the rubber strap gives it a more dymanic presence. And the little yellow "tennis ball" on the seconds hand is a nice touch too. Mechanically the Stan Smith Signature is no slouch either - it houses the ever-reliable ETA 2824-2 movement with a power reserve of 38 hours, not to mention the top-notch finishing that is synonymous with Maurice de Mauriac timepieces. Overall, it's a fresh package that oozes 70s cool. Check out the more hands-on review by Ariel Adams and his interview with Stan Smith here.
